Malachite green removal using ionic flocculation

چکیده
Abstract The use of ionic flocculation is proposed to remove malachite green (MG), in this case, from water. A surfactant with the polluted solution and calcium added. surfactant-calcium reaction forms a precipitate, which aggregates into flocs on agitation. adsorb MG, can then be removed by centrifugation. Ionic was assessed varying parameters including: MG concentrations, electrolyte content, pH, contact time, etc. isotherm adsorption kinetic models that best fit process are Langmuir pseudo-second-order models, respectively. removal efficiency 96% obtained at pH 9, concentration 1,400 mg L−1, 10 L−1 time minutes. has potential for pollutant removal.

Background and purpose: Malachite green is one of the most widely used dyes in various industries, aquaculture, and fungicides. The residues have adverse effects on environmental and human health and should be removed from the effluent before discharging to the environment. The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficiency of photocatalytic process using halloysite-titanium dioxide n...
متن کاملRemoval of Malachite Green from Contaminated Water using Electro-Coagulation Technique
Considerable amount of unconsumed dyes from textile, paper and printing industries are being discharged into water bodies, every day. The presence of dyes and pigments in water causes considerable damage to the aquatic environment [1]. These contaminants result in high chemical oxygen demand (COD), high biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), toxicity, bad smell, and are mainly responsible for the col...
